BlueTweeter can be configured to send several messages at different hours in different days allowing to manage complete advertising campaigns.
As the screencast shows, through the web interface, you can access the list of messages currently present on the device and you can manage them: uploading new messages, editing, cancelling or deleting those already present.
To insert a new message you first have to decide the kind of message, which can be either simple plain text or a multimedia content (e.g. a picture, music, a video …). In the former the text can be written directly through the web interface, by using the form. In the latter, it is necessary to generate the content with an external software on your desktop or laptop: the file must then be uploaded to the BlueTweeter using the form. Together with the content, in both the cases, you have to fill in start-end date and start-end day time that determine the interval in which the messages is sent. Once all the data are inserted, you have to confirm the configuration and BlueTweeter will start to spread messages.
BlueTweeter continuously verifies the presence of messages to send, on the basis of the current time and the present configuration. If a message is planned to be sent, BlueTweeter scans the reachable area for target devices which have bluetooth enabled and if it finds any, it delivers the content. Then, after a pause of some seconds, it continues to search and send. The connection and the dispatching of the message is simultaneous for all the detected devices.
The receiver of the message will be alerted by its device and will see on the display of its mobile phone an agreement request to accept the incoming message. She can answer both negatively or with an agreement: in the former the connection will be closed and the message will be dropped, in the latter BlueTweeter proceeds with the delivery of the message.
BlueTweeter maintains a list of devices which has already been found and pinged for message delivery, in this way it avoids to re-send the same content multiple times. Moreover, the web interface provide some statistics about how many messages have been sent and how many have been accepted
